York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office receives 4th Accreditation Award. On January 19, 2016, Sheriff J.D. “Danny ” Diggs and the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s office was presented with it’s 4th accreditation award by VLEPSC Commissioner Sheriff Darrell Warren, Gloucester Co. S O. Out of 190 standards there were zero (0) returns during the four year term. A memorial service for Sarah Ann McLaughlin is going to be held on Sunday, January 17th at 2pm. It will be held at New Kent Middle School , 7501 Egypt Rd., New Kent 23124. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to New Kent Humane Society or your local ASPCA.
Sarah was 29 years old and the daughter to Sheriff Joe McLaughlin and his wife Robin. Her brother Joey McLaughlin is a Lieutenant with New Kent Sheriff’s Office as well.

On December 17, 2015 the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office was formally awarded their Reaccreditation Certificate. Making the presentation is Sheriff Atkins, Salem Sheriff Office and VLEPSC Commissioner.
